Job summary

Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City is seeking a Sterile Processing Instrument Technician to join our medical facility. Under supervision, you will follow decontamination, processing and sterilization protocols to ensure instruments meet safety standards.

You will clean, inspect, test, and assemble instruments for High Level Disinfection or Sterilization and maintain documentation in logs or computer systems per hospital policy. This is a full-time, evening-shift role with occasional weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to wear PPE.
• Excellent interpersonal skills across disciplines.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to operate hospital equipment.
• Physical Demands: Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

Location: Mercy Hospital - Oklahoma City (W Memorial Rd)

Shift: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, evening shift (2p-10:30p) with occasional weekend rotation

Overview

The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician, under general supervision follows robust processes in Decontamination, Processing and Sterilization by cleaning instruments and equipment ensuring that all items are free of any bioburden, inspecting, function testing and assembling instruments and equipment for High Level Disinfection or Sterilization. The Sterile Processing Technician always follows the Manufacturer's Instructions for Use in Decontamination, Processing, High Level Disinfection & Sterilization as well as Department and Hospital Processes and Policies. The Sterile Processing Instrument Technician must be able accurately maintain the required documentation on written logs and/or computer systems. Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent
• Other: Basic computer skills
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must interact with staff and co-workers across a diverse range of disciplines.
