Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System, Main Campus in Cleveland, is seeking an Instrument Specialist to coordinate surgical equipment distribution, repairs, and vendor loaner sets. You will drive instrument readiness and safe surgical care while working within a supportive Sterile Processing-Operations team.

In this role you will manage instrument trays, participate with OR leadership, and help optimize processes across the Sterile Processing and Operations departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CSCST, CORT, CST or Sterile Processing licensure required.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and sterile processing information systems.
• Knowledge of performance improvement and quality standards in sterile processing.
• Two years of experience in Sterile Processing or related hospital environments.
• Ability to assemble instrument trays accurately.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate distribution of surgical equipment, instrument repairs and ordering.
• Manage vendor loaner tray sets and related activities.
• Lead changes and labeling/rebuilding of instrument trays.
• Process instrument and equipment orders for OR Managers and SPD leadership.
• Monitor tray assembly and stock levels; advise on purchases when needed.
• Attend departmental staff, management and committee meetings.
