Job summary

University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Clinical Coordinator to lead clinical education, training, and operational support across CSP departments within UM Capital Region Health.

The ideal candidate will have strong CSP expertise, a passion for staff development, and a proven ability to promote quality, competency, and regulatory compliance while supporting perioperative teams and physicians.

Qualifications

CRCST certification through HSPA in good standing is required.
Minimum of 5 years of Central Sterile Processing experience.
3 years of supervisory experience within CSP preferred.
Associate degree in a health-related field preferred.
Basic proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Coordinate staff orientation, annual competencies, ongoing education, training, and competency assessments.
Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs based on changing practices and equipment.
Provide coaching, remediation, and one-on-one support to CSP staff.
Provide direct clinical supervision and serve as a resource to CSP team members.
Monitor compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, and other standards governing sterile processing.
Collaborate with Perioperative Leadership and physicians to support instrument management and clinical needs.
Maintain education records and support performance improvement initiatives.
