Job summary

Henry Ford Health is hiring a Sterile Processing Assistant to ensure a smooth flow of instruments, supplies, and equipment in the operating rooms and sterile processing areas. You will support surgeons, nurses, and technicians by maintaining an organized, efficient environment that contributes to safe surgeries.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and collaborating with a patient-centered team in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in instrument/supply tracking.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills for multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve soiled instruments, equipment, and carts from clinical departments.
• Distribute and inventory supplies to OR and Sterile Processing.
• Answer phones and assist callers in obtaining needed supplies and/or instruments.
• Pull instruments and deliver case carts to the OR or L&D.
• Unload cart washers and dry items before placing them on carts for assembly.
• Move equipment and carts to maintain workflow and clear traffic paths.
