Job summary

BayCare Health System in Winter Haven seeks a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our hospital operations. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on decontamination, prepping, packaging and sterilization of instrumentation, while mentoring team members.

The position requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and healthcare experience; certification within 24 months is encouraged and support is provided to achieve it, with on-site evenings shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Sterile Processing Tech preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, prep, package and sterilize all instrumentation per dept. procedures.

Sterile Processing Tech - Noncert Responsibilities

• Responsible for the decontamination, prepping, packaging and sterilization of all instrumentation processed through the department following established department procedures.
• Acts as preceptor, mentor and resource in support of department team members.
