Job summary

ContinuumRx in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Pharmacy Technician based at the corporate headquarters to prepare, compound, label, and dispense sterile intravenous medications in accordance with USP standards and state/federal regulations. Qualifications

• Current, active and in good standing technician license/registration in the state of employment.
• Preferred Pharmacy Technician license with the State Board of Pharmacy (where applicable).
• Experience with USP <797> requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile intravenous medications, including IV admixtures, antibiotics, and other compounded medications.
• Perform sterile compounding in accordance with USP <797> standards and established pharmacy procedures.
• Accurately calculate, measure, and compound medications using aseptic technique.
• Verify medication orders and compounding instructions prior to preparation.
• Performs dispensing functions related to lot assignments, label printing, and supplies.
• Performs quality checks prior to pharmacist verification and organizing medications for verification.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and properly stocked compounding area.
• Complete routine cleaning and disinfection of compounding areas and equipment.
• Ensures all names and addresses are correct on each label and shipment.
• Confirms all pending dispenses and shipments at end of day.
• Orders / maintains an accurate inventory of nursing supplies, medications, shipping supplies, etc.
• Assists with inventory management and inventory counts.
• Represent the pharmacy in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients, providers, and peers.
• Collaborate with internal staff to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner.
• Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
• Additional tasks as required by management.
