Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Central Service Tech to maintain standards for sterilization, set assembly and storage of medical supplies. The role collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment promptly, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent service.

The position requires completion of a Central Services or Surgical Tech program or equivalent experience, with a GED and no prior certification necessary for hire.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program required.
• In lieu of certification, prior experience as Central Service Tech or Surgical Tech required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment in a timely manner.
• Maintains consistent workflow and delivers superior customer service.
