Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Central Service Technician to ensure sterile instrument sets are assembled, decontaminated, inspected and packaged to exact standards. You will collaborate with the Perioperative Nursing staff to support timely, safe patient care and maintain clean, organized work areas.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with graduation from a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program required.
• In lieu of certification prior experience as a Central Service or Surgical Tech required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow, providing superior customer service.

Prior experience in lieu of certification
