Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Central Service Technician to maintain standards for instrument set assembly, decontamination, and sterilization. Responsibilities include preparing sterilized instrument sets, assisting in storage, and ensuring timely delivery to the perioperative team.

Qualified candidates will have a GED or high school diploma, and a Central Services or Surgical Tech program or equivalent experience. Certification options may be pursued upon hire.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program is required.
• In lieu of certification, prior experience as Central Service Tech or Surgical Tech is required.
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician if no prior work experience Upon Hire is acceptable.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist if no prior work experience Upon Hire is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment promptly.
• Assists in maintaining consistent workflow and delivers superior customer service.

Education

H.S. Diploma or GED

Graduate of Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program

In lieu of certification prior experience as Central Service Tech or Surgical Tech

CCST - Certified Central Service Technician if no prior work experience Upon Hire

CST - Certified Surgical Technologist if no prior work experience Upon Hire
