Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Central Sterile Technician responsible for sterilization, assembly and storage of surgical instruments and medical supplies. You will collaborate with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide accurate instrument sets, maintain workflow, and deliver reliable, courteous service to customers.

Required education includes a high school diploma or GED and/or Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Tech training; prior sterile experience is

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program required or
• In lieu of program, prior experience as Central Service or Surgical Tech required.

Responsibilities

• Sterilizes, assembles and stores medical supplies and equipment.
• Maintains decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilization standards for surgical instruments.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment in a timely manner.
• Maintains consistent workflow and provides superior customer service.

Education

H.S. Diploma or GED

Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program

Prior experience in Central Sterile or Surgical Tech (in lieu of formal program)
