Job summary

State of New York, Syracuse, is seeking a Sterile Supply Tech 1 in Central Equipment Services. Duties include decontamination, setup, and verification of equipment, and ensuring timely delivery to patient areas.

The role requires knowledge of PPE, cleaning techniques, and basic computer skills. Training is provided for new staff; minor repairs are performed in-house with major repairs referred to Clinical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of PPE use, cleaning techniques, and basic computer lookups are preferred.
• Experience with equipment decontamination, setup, verification, and reissue is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, setup and verify equipment for issue.
• Oversee collection and delivery of equipment to patient areas.
• Perform minor repairs; refer major repairs to Clinical Engineering.
• Assist in prioritizing work and training new staff.
• Maintain shift reports and data entry in the computer system.
