Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Neptune City, NJ, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support sterile compounding, parenteral preparations, and medication distribution within a hospital setting.

You will assist licensed pharmacists, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with USP standards and safety protocols. A minimum 1 year hospital experience and EPIC proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year hospital or similar experience.
• Aseptic techniques, USP standards, and compounding equipment knowledge.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance.
• Detail oriented with sterile environment focus.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency using EPIC and related software.
• Knowledge of brand and generic medications.

Responsibilities

• Sterile compounding of IV admixtures and sterile products per protocols.
• Aseptic technique maintained to ensure patient safety.
• Quality assurance: cleaning, testing, and monitoring equipment.
• Inventory management of sterile drugs and supplies.
• Maintain accurate batch records and quality documentation.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and healthcare staff.
• Adhere to safety protocols and PPE use.
• Keep up with industry trends and ongoing training.
• Prepare parenteral mixtures and load/unload ADC with bar code scanning.
• Support drug inventory rotation and restocking for orders.
• Answer phones and route calls appropriately.
• Fill controlled substance orders and reconcile discrepancies.
• Dispense unit dose, IV admixtures, and chemotherapy under supervision.
• Maintain required paperwork and records for medications.
