Job summary

St. Francis–Emory Healthcare in Columbus, GA invites a registered nurse to join the stepdown unit under the nurse manager. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a defined patient group and coordinate care delivery.

The role emphasizes education, discharge planning, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to standards. Requires completion of an accredited RN program, active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and preferably a BSN with 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited program for Registered Nursing. Required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); other certifications within time frame required by facility policy.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects, records, and analyzes patient conditions and provides care in accordance with patient needs.
• Performs nursing interventions and monitoring, documenting and communicating condition changes to the healthcare team.
• Educates patients and families; promotes physical and emotional well-being.
• Provides discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel in accordance with scope of practice.
• Maintains clinical competence in stepdown nursing practices.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Participates in quality improvement and regulatory compliance efforts.
