Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is hiring registered nurses for the Stepdown Unit. This 36-hour-per-week, 3x12-hour shift role includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and requires BLS on hire with ACLS within 6 months.

The unit cares for acutely ill adults with renal, cardiac, respiratory issues and post-surgical/dialysis patients, with overflow beds also available. You will provide professional nursing care, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, document histories, assist physicians, and

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current RN license in SC or eligible for SC licensure.
• BLS required on hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit.
• Coordinate care planning with other disciplines.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Document patient histories and care plans.
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient handoffs.
