Retired Nurses is seeking a qualified RN to support gen med/oncology stepdown patients on a 3x12 night shift unit in Michigan. This contract position emphasizes hands-on patient care, safety, and collaboration, using EPIC for documentation and Welch Allyn equipment.

Active Michigan RN license, BLS, ONCC/ONS certification, and 2+ years of stepdown experience are required. You may float to AU/ER, maintain 1:4-6 nurse-patient ratios, and participate in self-scheduling; no on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN License required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ONCC or ONS certification required (ONS may be pending; ONCC must be current)
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown/PCU nursing experience
• Competency in administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs
• Experience with EPIC for documentation

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to general medicine/oncology stepdown patients
• Administer IV chemotherapy following established protocols and safety standards
• Start IV lines and document all interventions and assessments in EPIC
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-6; additional support provided as needed
• Float as needed to other med-surg areas, including AU and ER, caring for med-surg patient populations
• Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams and support staff
• Participate in self-scheduling for non-weekend shifts; weekend shifts determined by manager/scheduler
• Remain available for the first two weeks of assignment; any time-off requests after offer must be discussed with management

Schedule & Hours:

• 3x12 hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling may be accommodated (please specify preferences)
• No on-call responsibility
