Job summary

TalentBurst is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse for Kalamazoo, MI. Day shift, 12 hours a day, 3 days a week, 13-week contract with potential up to 26 weeks. Oncology/chemo experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities include chemotherapy administration, IV starts, and EPIC documentation. Must hold Michigan RN license and BLS; NIH and ONCC/ONS preferred. Weekend coverage rotates and float to AU/ER as needed.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license is required.
• BLS certification required.
• ONCC/ONS preferred but not required.
• 2+ years PCU/Stepdown experience preferred.
• Oncology/chemo experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy via IV.
• Start IVs and monitor patient status.
• Document care in EPIC EMR.
• Provide stepdown care for med/surg oncology patients.
• Collaborate with support staff to manage patient ratios.

Day Shift 12 hours/day 3 days/week

Title: Stepdown Registered Nurse
Location:Kalamazoo, MI
Duration: 13 Weeks / Offering up to 26 weeks
Shift: Day (3x12 Hours) 7:00 19:30

Oncology/Chemo experience preferred not required

GMU is a step down unit that cares for gen med/oncology stepdown patients

Skills Required: Administering Chemotherapy via IV, starting IVs
Equipment - Welch Allyn Vital sign towers, sigma IV pumps,
EPIC for documentation
2 Years PCU/Stepdown Experience

Required Certs/Licenses:
Michigan RN License
BLS (AHA)
NIH
ONCC or ONS preferred

Scheduling:
Call: None
Weekend: Will work every other weekend.
Floating: Other med surg areas, including AU and ER, to care for med surg patients
Nurse to Patient Ratio 1:4-6 Support staff if ratios flex higher, charge RN not typically in pt assignment, chemo admits decrease assignment ratios as well.

**Block scheduling** may be accommodated. Please include specific request if there is one.

Scheduling: Weekends are assigned by manager/scheduler, remainder of days clinician can request through self-scheduling

Must be available first two weeks of assignment.

Any RTO requests after offer will need to be discussed with the manager on site.
