Job summary

WMCH Weirton Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Assistant/Patient Care Technician to assist with patient care under supervision. The role supports admissions, transfers, discharges, and transport, with emphasis on safety and comfort in a hospital setting.

The position offers a daytime shift with a 24-hour weekly schedule and non-exempt status. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with meals and hygiene, mobility, and collaboration with nursing staff to ensure quality care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Preferred: nurse assistant or patient care technician training background.

Responsibilities

• Follow established patient care plan.
• Assist with admission, transfer, discharge and transport.
• Support safety measures and patient comfort, including mobility and hygiene.
• Record vital signs and prepared specimens per policy.
• Provide care under nurse instruction, including routine tasks and monitoring.
