Job summary

Suffolk University in downtown Boston is seeking a STEM tutor for a 75% time role. The position involves one-on-one and small-group tutoring in math and STEM subjects, with sessions that may be online or held in the tutoring center.

Tutors will document notes in the tutor management system (EAB Navigate) for each appointment and participate in training. Flexibility and collaboration with CLAS management are essential in supporting diverse student success.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline or related area.
• Knowledge of successful strategies for tutoring a diverse college student population.
• Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion and anti-racist tutoring praxis.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in person on Suffolk’s downtown Boston campus.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Creativity and flexibility in tutoring.
• Experience with EAB Navigate, TutorTrac, WCOnline, or other appointment management platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring sessions (individual to small group) in math/stats and other STEM disciplines, in-person or online.
• Write notes for all tutoring sessions in the tutor management system (EAB Navigate) for individual appointments.
• Attend training on topics related to assisting college students in STEM.
• Facilitate large group tutoring sessions or exam review sessions; meet with program supervisors as needed.
