Job summary

The Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR) is seeking an experienced grade 4–8 STEM Teacher to lead developmentally appropriate STEM learning activities and assessments in a vibrant middle school setting.

You will teach 16 class periods weekly across Coding, Engineering, and Design Thinking, coach the Robotics team, and collaborate with faculty to infuse STEM into core subjects while maintaining a safe, well-equipped STEM Lab.

Qualifications

• Experience with inquiry-based, hands-on PBL classrooms.
• Experience with block-based coding; Arduino a plus.
• Passionate about accessible STEM education.
• Strong communication and planning; team player.
• Master’s in Education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach 16 class periods weekly across STEM courses for grades 4–8.
• Coach middle school Robotics team; possible expansion to high school or lower school.
• Collaborate with faculty to infuse STEM into core subjects.
• Maintain a safe, organized STEM Lab and inventory.
• Assist in integrating new modalities and interactives with the STEM team.
