Job summary

Georgia State University’s Perimeter College Clarkston Campus seeks a Laboratory Coordinator to manage daily lab operations, ensure safety compliance, and support instructional activities on campus. The role requires supervising staff and students, procuring supplies, and maintaining equipment inventories.

The position emphasizes collaboration with faculty, staff, and students to ensure labs are prepared for classes, with potential involvement in course design and development as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Biology and college teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with setting up, maintaining and using various lab equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and effectively communicate with direct supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to three lab courses per semester and provide instructional coverage during temporary faculty absences.
• Order, prepare, and maintain laboratory supplies, materials, and equipment; develop and maintain manuals; recruit, train, and supervise student assistants and technicians.
• Maintain laboratory facilities, spaces and storage to ensure safety, organization, and compliance; coordinate transfer of obsolete equipment to Surplus.
• Coordinate procurement, quotations, approvals, procurement documentation and logs; oversee preventive maintenance and report failures.
• Serve as primary contact for part-time instructors; onboard, train, communicate expectations and provide ongoing instructional support.
