Job summary

St. Ann’s School in Methuen, MA seeks a dedicated STEM/educational technology specialist to lead and integrate STEM across K–11. You will drive curriculum development, model tech-based teaching, and collaborate with teachers to design engaging, student-centered experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with educational technology.
  • Proficient level of technology and 21st century learning understanding and application.
  • Deep knowledge of content standards, effective strategies, and effective assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of school-based applications such as Google Apps for Education (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, etc.).
  • Experience or familiarity with 3D printing, Arduino, Makey-Makey, Codecademy, Sphero, Tynker, and BeeBot.
  • Highly effective communication, listening, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic technical knowledge for routine maintenance and minor equipment repair.
  • Massachusetts license in Digital Literacy / Computer Science, 5-12; Instructional Technology Specialist-All Levels; or a Massachusetts license in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction directly related to STEM and computer science in the school program.
  • Implement curriculum in weekly instructional classes for all students enrolled at St. Ann’s School.
  • Differentiate instruction for ages 5–16 and the special-needs population.
  • Model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
  • Weave STEM experiences into multidisciplinary curricula from grades K through 11.
  • Partner with teachers and staff to model effective technology-based teaching and lesson-plan design.
  • Design, develop, assess, and manage STEM learning experiences.
  • Apply educational and technology-related research, psychology of learning, and instructional design principles.
  • Identify resources and design staff development activities supporting professional growth in learning technologies.
  • Coordinate synchronous and asynchronous remote instruction as needed with the Curriculum Specialist and Director of Education.
  • Participate in professional development to observe, evaluate, and apply technology supporting instruction.
  • Communicate with agency personnel, LEA representatives, families, and children.
  • Respond safely to occasional aggressive, self-injurious, or unsafe behaviors; staff receive training in current best-practice techniques.
  • Report to the Head of School.

Job description

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to react quickly and physically restrain children in an emergency
  • Massachusetts license in Digital Literacy / Computer Science, 5-12; Instructional Technology Specialist-All Levels; or a Massachusetts license in a related field preferred
