Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; 12 ECE units preferred by CA state licensing.
• Experience in a professional child care or school-aged program is preferred.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups from all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum within guidelines and prepare materials.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure program quality.
• Provide direction to assistants and aides as needed.
• Encourage exploration and development while promoting YMCA values.
• Maintain health and safety of children and report incidents promptly.
• Use appropriate discipline consistent with age and standards.
• Document notable behaviors and communicate with supervisor and families.
• Establish positive communication with school personnel, families, and children.
• Maintain program records and participate in meetings and events.
• Ensure center cleanliness and licensing compliance.
• Attend program activities and trainings as scheduled.
