Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, seeks a Career Coach: STEM & Environment to provide individualized coaching, lead workshops, and coordinate programs for students pursuing science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and environmental fields.

The role combines advising, community engagement, and program ownership to help students gain internships, research experiences, and graduate-ready skills, with occasional evening/weekend duties.

Qualifications

• Experience providing career coaching, advising, counseling, mentoring, or comparable support.
• Knowledge of career exploration, experiential learning, job-search practices, and graduate education.
• Ability to deliver presentations, workshops, and group activities.
• Ability to coordinate programs with multiple participants, deadlines, and partners.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills with diverse groups.
• Ability to work independently and handle occasional evening/weekend responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group career coaching in exploration, experiential learning, job searches, and post-graduate planning.
• Help students translate interests into educational and career plans.
• Advise resumes, cover letters, profiles, networking, interviewing, and graduate-school prep.
• Connect students with internships, research, and alumni or employer mentors.
• Build relationships with faculty, employers, and community partners to support referrals.
