Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a STE(A)M Specialist to plan and expand STE(A)M integration across assigned schools, coordinating instructional materials and professional learning for staff. The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, administrators, and community partners to promote STEM learning and equitable access.

The position focuses on CCSS-Mathematics alignment, NGSS, and the integration of engineering and computer science across school disciplines, with a district-wide impact on STEM

Qualifications

• STE(A)M integration experience or familiarity with CCSS-Math and NGSS preferred
• Experience supporting teachers with instructional materials and coaching
• Ability to develop and monitor professional learning plans
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and community partners
• Familiarity with STE(A)M standards and K-12 curriculum alignment

Responsibilities

• Support Tier 1 learning experiences to prepare students for advanced STEM coursework
• Develop and implement a Professional Learning Plan (PLP) for whole-school STE(A)M adoption
• Serve as subject-matter expert and instructional coach to teachers implementing STE(A)M
• Ensure teachers have access to resources to support STE(A)M practices
• Promote STE(A)M awareness through partnerships and family/community engagement
• Participate in STEM Specialist PLCs and reflective practices to sustain collaboration
