Job summary

Code Ninjas of Newcastle WA is seeking a STEM/Coding Instructor to coach children ages 5-10 in a fun, engaging way and to build problem solving through coding activities. You will oversee day-to-day coaching and student engagement, with emphasis on safety and a positive learning atmosphere.

Ideal candidates have experience mentoring youth, teaching or childcare, and enjoy fast-paced environments where requirements may change.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children ages 5-7 in mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or childcare.
• Experience working with the general public.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring or child care.
• Works well with others and collaborates in a team.
• Fun to work with and thrives in fast-paced environments with changing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Training — go through the curriculum and learn it.
• Create a positive and safe environment for student growth.
• Work with children to determine skill sets and progress.
• Provide feedback to parents after sessions or tours.
• Follow opening/closing duties daily and maintain dojo cleanliness.
• Report progress to Center Manager and Center Assistant Manager.
• Support daily dojo activities and productivity.
