Job summary

Eastern Kentucky University seeks Learning Assistants for the Center for STEM Excellence to support student learning in STEM courses. LAs work on-campus, one-on-one or in small groups, and may lead workshops on problem-solving and study skills.

Some roles may cover up to three sections under instructor supervision, with participation in staff meetings and professional development. We offer flexible scheduling to fit student courses.

Qualifications

• Full‑time EKU student in good academic standing.
• Completed GE II (Quantitative Reasoning) or GE IV (Natural Sciences).
• GPA of 2.8 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate meaningful learning experiences (workshops, tutoring, etc.).
• Foster productive learning environments in assigned spaces (SCIBD Atrium, etc.).
• Participate in weekly training and professional development.
• Support day-to-day STEM Center activities as needed.
