Job summary

UC San Diego’s Department of Pediatrics seeks a research technician to perform and oversee pre-clinical experiments and manage clinical samples for gene therapy data collection. You will work with mammalian cell culture, human blood, and mouse models, contributing to safety and efficacy data generation.

Responsibilities include general lab duties, EH&S biosafety liaison, equipment maintenance, onboarding, mouse colony management, lentivirus production, and cell culture; ability to follow safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in cellular/molecular biology or related field.
• Experience with sterile techniques and mammalian cell culture.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, perform and oversee pre-clinical experiments and manage clinical samples for safety and efficacy data of a gene therapy product.
• Work with mouse models, human blood and cell types; assist in mouse colony management and lentivirus production.
• Perform general lab duties, maintain equipment, participate in EH&S biosafety activities and onboarding of new staff.
