Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital seeks a motivated individual to join the Schlaeger Lab for human stem cell biology research. The role involves handling hiPSCs, genome editing, and conducting cellular assays with human tissues and animal-related work where applicable.

The candidate will work in a collaborative team, maintain equipment, mentor lab techniques, and present findings at lab meetings. A bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or related field is required, with Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related field required.
  • Willingness to work with animals and human tissues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in following multi-step protocols and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Produce/maintain/expand/bank/QC hiPSCs (including transduction, genome editing).
  • Perform cellular experiments and analyses using techniques such as in vitro differentiation, in vivo assays, immunostaining, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, and other molecular biology methods.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments including flow cytometers, automated fluorescence microscopes, plate readers, and liquid handling robotics.
  • Manage inventory by monitoring, ordering, and organizing supplies.
