Job summary

Honda is seeking an Experienced Steering System Hardware Design Engineer in a hybrid onsite role in Ohio. You will lead steering hardware design, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet schedules and deliver high performance and reliability for customers.

The role requires a mechanical or automotive engineering background, 5+ years in automotive design, and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6. Onsite work is typical with potential for one remote workday per week.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive engineering.
5+ years of automotive component design or project management experience.
Experience with steering system design and chassis components.
Proficient in CATIA V5/V6 and 3D/2D CAD workflows.
Strong MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

Lead steering design projects and coordinate with design, test, factory, purchasing and suppliers.
Create schedules with milestones and manage open items.
Review costs and ensure design alignment with targets.
Model parts and systems in 3D and release drawings and specs.
Mentor junior engineers and communicate progress with stakeholders.
