Job summary

Nisga'a MOSTT, LLC seeks a Steelworker Apprentice/Advance Instructor to support the Naval Construction Training Center in Gulfport, MS. You will provide apprentice training in welding, sheet metal layout, and steelwork, under the Advanced Steel Worker School program.

Responsibilities include teaching welding processes, pattern development, and pipe layout, plus in-depth instruction on welding supervision, standards, safety, and documentation. A strong background in steel fabrication is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of steelworker/welding experience.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Experience with GMA/GTA/SMAW welding and reading welding symbols.

Responsibilities

• Provide apprentice level training in construction mathematics, blueprint reading and basic layout.
• Train in welding, sheet metal fabrication and pre-engineered buildings including installation/maintenance of doors.
• Instruct on welding supervision concepts, welding standards, inspection, safety and record-keeping.
• Teach steelworker pattern development and layout for ductwork and pipe transitions.
• Cover SMAW on structural steel and on pipe, with appropriate welding techniques.
