Job summary

Bilstein Cold Rolled Steel Lp. is seeking a Slitter Operator in Bowling Green, KY to set up, operate and monitor slitting of cold rolled steel to specified widths. The role supports 24/7 production with rotating shifts and involves collaboration with the Production Team Leader.

The candidate should have 1–3 years of manufacturing experience, a high school or technical degree, and familiarity with ERP systems and steel processing. Safety and quality are emphasized in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or technical degree preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably steel/metal manufacturing.
• Knowledge of production and processing of cold rolled steel; PC knowledge with ERP applications.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedules and work orders to plan operations.
• Start conveyors and signal crane operators to move coils to position.
• Position coils on the slitter and thread coils from reels.
• Operate the slitter and monitor process to meet specifications.
• Measure finished slit coils using micrometers, gauges and calipers.
• Identify and replace defective slitter knives and adjust tensions.
