Job summary

Monarch Steel Company of Alabama, Inc. is seeking an Operator I to support the production and maintenance of steel coil processing. The role emphasizes safe, efficient handling of coils, adherence to procedures, and accurate identification and tracking of materials.

Under supervision, you will perform assigned tasks to ensure quality and productivity, while upholding a strong 1 TEAM culture in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to use computers and read tape measures.
• Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs.
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to work outside normal business hours and interact effectively with employees at all levels.
• Able to read and comprehend simple work instructions written in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Embraces the 1 TEAM culture.
• Wear all proper protective equipment as required by Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
• Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits and housekeeping.
• Verification and recording of product identification.
• Reconcile coil identity for production and load coil.
• Ensure material is loaded onto lines and fed into production equipment per safety/quality procedures.
• Make necessary adjustments to ensure material tracking/stacking.
• Perform in-process visual inspection.
• Ensure material is unloaded from lines per safety/quality procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Operator I position performs a variety of skilled tasks involved involving the general maintenance and operations processes; basic understanding of equipment and performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
