Job summary

RK Industries is seeking a Purchasing Agent to manage the full purchasing lifecycle for structural steel materials and related fabrication services. You will source, negotiate, and coordinate deliveries to support projects and shop operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes supplier relationships, cost savings, and collaboration with project teams to meet schedule and quality targets at RK Industries.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
Experience in purchasing for steel, fabrication, or construction environments is preferred.
Strong communication and analytical skills; ability to collaborate with teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Execute end-to-end purchasing activities from requisition to PO issuance to support project schedules.
Source materials and services for projects while ensuring vendor compliance and best value.
Obtain competitive pricing via bids and negotiate terms, lead times, and rebates.
Coordinate deliveries to job sites, fabrication shops, and yards; track back orders and expedite critical materials.
Maintain accurate PO, vendor, and item data; support accounts payable with PO-to-invoice validation.
Review drawings and BOMs to procure structural steel materials and related fabrication services.
Communicate proactively to resolve supply risks, shortages, or delivery issues.
