Job summary

Schuff Steel is seeking a Project Coordinator to help manage the flow of technical information between the Project Management team, customers, and subcontractors. You will develop relationships with internal and external clients through verbal and written communication and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure project execution.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years coordinating structural steel projects, with experience reading shop drawings and proficiency in Tekla, Fabtrol, Primavera, and

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred; bachelor’s may substitute for experience.
• At least five years of related experience coordinating structural steel projects; detailing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret shop/design drawings; familiarity with drafting, 3D modeling, Tekla practices, fabrication/erection standards.

Responsibilities

• Reviews design drawings for accuracy and coordinates resolution of discrepancies.
• Coordinates project sequencing and basic detailing setup, including advance bills and shop/erection drawings.
• Provides technical instructions to steel detailers per project requirements and standards.
• Monitors submittals, approvals, and shop fabrication releases; communicates delays to PM team.
• Organizes detailing RFI process with engineers, architects, and GC; tracks documentation.
• Distributes and routes drawings; works with Document Control to avoid delays.
