Job summary

SSAB in Iowa is hiring a Production Operator responsible for supporting safe and efficient steel production through operating and maintaining equipment. Responsibilities include following safety rules, operating equipment, and performing preventative maintenance.

This hands-on position requires a high school diploma, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work well with minimal supervision. Preferred candidates will have industrial experience and training in relevant fields.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED or HSE.
• Basic mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe and efficient production of steel.
• Operate and maintain equipment for daily operations.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
• Work in an operational, hands-on capacity.
