Job summary

SSAB in the United States seeks a Maintenance Operator, Mechanical for the Rolling Mill/Finishing area. You will maintain, repair, and improve heavy industrial equipment, performing welding and basic hydraulics/pneumatics tasks while supporting troubleshooting in a team environment.

The role requires a strong mechanical background, at least 2 years in heavy industry, and a high school diploma. Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts and overtime. MS Office skills a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background
• Minimum of 2 years of heavy industrial experience
• Basic PLC/electrical understanding
• Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Pass Stick overhead 3G welding test
• Microsoft Office skills required

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and improve industrial equipment and facilities.
• Perform essential millwright duties with welding applications.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform plumbing and pipefitting as needed for repairs.
• Support troubleshooting and process improvements in a team environment.
• Install modifications to existing equipment.
• Work rotating 12-hour swing shifts including days and nights.
• Perform administrative tasks as assigned.
