Job summary

SSAB Group is seeking a Production Operator to support safe, efficient steel production by operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment within the department. The role requires following procedures, safety standards, and basic troubleshooting in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

The position offers rotating 12-hour shifts with overtime, opportunities to learn all department functions, and growth in a heavy industry setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED or HSE.
• Basic mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
• Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Conscientious with a good attendance record.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the equipment for daily operations in the department.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
• Follow safety rules and evacuation routes; adhere to SOP/JSA practices.
• Enter and document data accurately; work collaboratively with the team.
• Cross-train and learn all functions of the department.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts including days and nights.
