Job summary

Gil Haugan Construction in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Steel and Precast Project Manager / Estimator to lead steel and precast scopes from preconstruction through procurement, fabrication, installation, and closeout.

You will collaborate with project teams to develop estimates, schedules, and budgets, review drawings, coordinate takeoffs, and ensure quality and timely delivery while upholding our values: Genuine, Hardworking, and Committed.

Qualifications

• Experience in steel, precast, or related construction production.
• Construction project management or trade scope management experience.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, and shop drawings and specifications.
• Estimating experience, including takeoffs, budgeting, and cost tracking.
• Strong organizational, budgeting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and specifications to define steel and precast scope and feasibility.
• Prepare estimates, proposals, and scope clarifications.
• Coordinate takeoffs, materials, and procurement planning.
• Manage steel and precast scope from award through installation and closeout.
• Develop and maintain schedules aligned with the master project schedule.
• Oversee shop drawings, submittals, approvals, and revisions.
• Coordinate with fabricators, suppliers, and field teams to confirm lead times.
• Track job costs, labor, materials, and change orders.
• Serve as the primary contact for steel and precast-related communication.
• Provide schedule and budget updates to internal teams and clients.
• Ensure quality control standards are met through fabrication and installation.
• Oversee punch list completion and closeout documentation.
