Job summary

Minerals Technologies Inc. is seeking a Steel Mill Laborer to join MINTEQ’s North American service team in McMinnville, Oregon. The role involves installation, maintenance, and support of specialized equipment at steel industry sites, with travel within North America as needed.

You will work with project managers and service staff to ensure high-quality service, organize spare parts, and perform commissioning and troubleshooting on site. A background in electrical/mechatronic systems is required.

Qualifications

• Completed education as electrician or mechatronic.
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams of PLC and I/O systems.
• Basic knowledge in control technology (Siemens SIMATIC S7) and loading programs into controllers.

Responsibilities

• Equipment production & installation.
• Support of project managers for customized systems and laser business.
• Installation and wiring of control cabinets; cabling of machines.
• Selection, supervising and tracing of suppliers; outsourcing when workload is high.
• Troubleshooting of Minscan operation and correction of equipment documentation.
• Perform all maintenance and scheduled PM of equipment.
• Training of customer on operation of Minscan LSC-units and systems.
• Organizing spare parts, parameterization, installation and commissioning on site.
• Analysis of weak points and faults to improve durability and availability.
• Customer support at worldwide-located customers or via Telephone, Email, remote control.
