Job summary

Minerals Technologies Inc. is seeking a Steel Mill Laborer for our MINTEQ unit in McMinnville, OR. You will work with the local service team and project managers to provide on-site support, install equipment, organize spare parts, and diagnose issues at steel industry customers.

The role requires electrical/mechatronic background, ability to read wiring diagrams, and strong English technical communication. Travel within North America may be needed.

Qualifications

• Completed education as electrician or mechatronic
• Ability to read wiring diagrams of PLC and I/O systems
• Basic knowledge in control technology (Siemens SIMATIC S7) with loading programs
• Basic knowledge of computer technology and Windows software
• Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint
• Good English knowledge, especially technical terminology
• Ability to work with international customers

Responsibilities

• Equipment production and installation
• Support project managers for customized systems, refractory and laser business
• Installation and wiring of control cabinets
• Installation and cabling of machines
• Selection, supervising and tracing of suppliers and outsourcing when workload
• Troubleshooting of Minscan operation
• Maintenance and scheduled PM of equipment
• Training of customer on operation of Minscan LSC-units and systems
• Customer support at worldwide locations
