Job summary

Minerals Technologies Inc. is seeking a Minscan Technical Service Specialist to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Minscan scanning systems in steel mills and other industrial environments. You will travel to customer sites, work with service personnel, and ensure safety and reliability of equipment.

The role requires technical troubleshooting skills, the ability to read diagrams, and a strong drive for customer satisfaction, with travel up to 50-75% as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical degree or trade certification preferred.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
• Preferred: Experience in steel mills, refractory or heavy industrial environments.
• Experience with sensors, instrumentation, controls, or scanning equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, setup, and commissioning of Minscan equipment at customer facilities.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and calibration of Minscan systems and supporting hardware.
• Diagnose equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
• Document service activities, repairs, and equipment performance data.
• Travel to customer locations to support installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
