Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; must be able to speak/read English.
• Previous steel-making or related experience preferred but not required.
• Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply refractory material to line and repair furnaces, ladles, and high-temperature equipment in a steel mill.
• Mix materials and maintain equipment and tools used in the process.
• Be mechanically inclined and able to work in extreme temperatures.
• Follow all standard operating procedures for equipment and product application.
• Operate equipment and perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain equipment in working order and a clean appearance.
