Minerals Technologies Inc. in Braddock, PA is hiring a Steel Mill Laborer to apply refractory materials, line and repair furnaces, and support high-temperature operations in a steel mill environment.

You will mix materials, maintain tools, and work swing/12-hour shifts; safety testing applies. Requires High School Diploma and ability to read English.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must have ability to speak and read English.
• Knowledge: Previous steel-making or related experience preferred but not required. Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Apply material (product) and use all relevant equipment as required.
• Follow all standard operating procedures regarding equipment and applications of product.
• Operate equipment and perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain all equipment in working order, with clean appearance.
• Maintain a strong focus on satisfying the customer.
• Maintain a positive profile with the customer.
• Actively participates in Lean initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.
