Job summary

TMS International is seeking a qualified Maintenance Manager for the Braddock, PA site. This role oversees day-to-day maintenance of off-highway equipment in a heavy industrial setting, ensuring safe and reliable operation for our steel mill clients.

Lead a team of mechanics, develop maintenance strategies, and work closely with operations to minimize downtime while meeting customer needs. Strong leadership, mechanical and electrical expertise, and CMMS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a technical degree in Diesel, Electrical, Hydraulic, or related field.
• 5+ years of mobile heavy equipment maintenance management experience in a heavy industrial setting.
• Strong leadership with ability to mentor a diverse team.
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial settings.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of mechanics to maintain site equipment.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule safe, reliable repairs.
• Monitor equipment reliability and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations in all activities.
• Manage maintenance budgets (operational and CAPEX) with forecasting and cost control.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Mentor and develop maintenance staff through training and reviews.
