Job summary

TMS International is seeking a qualified Maintenance Manager for the Braddock, PA site. This role oversees day-to-day maintenance of off-highway equipment in a heavy industrial setting, ensuring safe and reliable operation for our steel mill clients.

Lead a team of mechanics, develop maintenance strategies, and work closely with operations to minimize downtime while meeting customer needs. Strong leadership, mechanical and electrical expertise, and CMMS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a technical degree in Diesel, Electrical, Hydraulic, or related field.
• 5+ years of mobile heavy equipment maintenance management experience in a heavy industrial setting.
• Strong leadership with ability to mentor a diverse team.
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning software.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial settings.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the maintenance mechanics in conjunction with operations to provide the customer with safe and reliable equipment to meet their needs. Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of mechanics to ensure effective and efficient maintenance of all equipment and machinery at the site.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Work with operations to schedule maintenance repairs necessary to provide safe, reliable equipment to meet and exceed customer's needs.
• Monitor equipment performance and reliability, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all maintenance activities.
• Manage the maintenance operational and CAPEX budgets, including forecasting and cost control measures.
• Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance program to prolong equipment life and reduce repair costs.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring it meets operational requirements and safety standards.
• Mentor and develop maintenance staff through training and performance management initiatives.

Requirements

• Technical degree in Diesel, Electrical, Hydraulic, or a related field.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in mobile heavy equipment maintenance management within a heavy industrial environment, preferably in steel manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience with maintenance planning software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment screenings
