Job summary

Qualdoc in Cocoa, FL is seeking a Steel Fabrication & Fitting Technician to prepare and assemble steel components in a shop setting. You will read blueprints, measure precisely, cut and fit parts to meet tight specifications.

This contract-to-hire role offers first or second shift options with pay up to $26 per hour and a $3 shift differential for second shift. No travel required; candidates with related fabrication experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings and specifications.
• Accurate measurement, marking and layout of steel components.
• Experience or background in structural steel fabrication or metalworking is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and specifications to determine material dimensions.
• Measure, mark, cut, and prepare steel using hand tools and shop equipment.
• Fit and assemble steel components according to specifications.
• Operate torches, plasma cutters, drills, and fitting jigs as required.
• Inspect assemblies for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain shop safety and coordinate with teammates to meet schedules.
