Job summary

JGM seeks an experienced Safety Manager with steel erection experience to support safety programs across nationwide job sites. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, this role strengthens JGM’s safety culture across offices, fabrication, and active field projects.

Certain projects may require full-time, onsite support in various states. Responsibilities include audits, training, incident investigations, and developing site safety plans per OSHA/USACE standards. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hands-on safety experience supporting steel erection operations.
• Ability to read and interpret regulations, safety plans, and drawings.
• Strong math skills and data interpretation.
• Willingness to learn and adapt within the role.
• OSHA/MSHA/related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine safety audits and inspections at fabrication shops and field sites.
• Audit subcontractors and prepare safety reports.
• Represent JGM with owners, client representatives, and regulatory agencies.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Lead new hire orientations and ongoing safety training.
• Investigate injuries, incidents, and near-miss events.
• Develop site-specific safety plans per OSHA, MSHA, EM-385, DOT, USACE, EPA.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
