Job summary

The Christa McAuliffe Charter School in Framingham, MA, seeks a dynamic Middle School STEAM Teacher to design and lead a new STEAM program for grades 6–8. The role emphasizes hands-on, cross-disciplinary projects and a strong emphasis on EL Education principles, teamwork, and community involvement.

You will teach four STEAM sections, develop units, and collaborate with staff to ensure a rigorous, equitable learning experience while growing a program that adapts to student needs and future

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of STEAM and building a program from the ground up.
• Passion for teaching STEAM at middle school level.
• Experience with iterative design process and assessment methods.
• Commitment to EL Education core practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Massachusetts DESE licensure in a STEAM field.

Responsibilities

• Develop units and lessons for the STEAM program.
• Teach 4 sections of STEAM classes with student-centered instruction.
• Stay updated on STEAM best practices.
• Provide differentiated support with accommodations.
• Participate in professional development with an instructional coach.
• Maintain the STEAM lab and equipment.
• Serve as a Crew advisor to ~12 students.
• Engage with the McAuliffe Community; attend evening celebrations.
