Massachusetts Port Authority is seeking a Steam/Sprinkler Fitter to support reliable facility operations at BOS and other properties. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain steam, hot water, piping, and fire protection systems while collaborating with supervisors and stakeholders.

The role requires 3-5 years of relevant experience and a Massachusetts Journeyman Pipe Fitters license, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years experience in maintenance, repair and testing of low and high pressure steam, high temperature hot water and fire protection systems.
  • Massachusetts Journeyman Pipe Fitters license required.
  • Knowledge of steam plant operations and systems.
  • Working knowledge of low- and high-pressure steam piping systems, high-temperature hot water piping systems, and valve maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain steam, hot water, piping, and fire protection systems to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Assess equipment and system issues, implement effective solutions, and coordinate with supervisors when additional resources or expertise are required.

As a Steam/Sprinkler Fitter (Bargaining Unit, Local No. 25), you are a dependable and safety-focused professional who combines strong mechanical aptitude with sound judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to operational excellence. You remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, adapt to changing priorities, and take a proactive, accountable approach to solving problems while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations.
