The position offers hands-on experience coordinating activities, mentoring students, and engaging communities. The role requires attendance during weekday summer camps and is primarily in-person at the Walnut corporate office or camp sites in Long Beach

Qualifications

  • Passion for education, youth empowerment, and STEAM fields.
  • Comfortable working with middle and high school students.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Satisfactory criminal background and fingerprint clearance; TB test.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and hold the team accountable.
  • Take initiative in projects and activities.
  • Assist with setup, facilitation, and breakdown of STEAM activities.
  • Support instructors and students during workshops, demonstrations, and group projects.
  • Help manage daily logistics: attendance, supplies, classroom organization.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Document student experiences through photos, videos, and reflections.
  • Encourage student engagement during activities and team challenges.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program evaluations.
  • Contribute creative ideas for activities and improvements.

Department:STEAM Education & Community Engagement
Reports To:STEAM Manager - Jason Minera

Commitment:20-25 hours per week (hours may vary based on program needs)

Schedule:Flexible, with required attendance during weekday summer camps

Compensation:$20.50-$24/hour

Location:Primarily in-person at corporate office in Walnut, CA or camp sites in Long Beach, and Pomona, CA

About the Position

The National College Resources Foundation is seeking energetic, dependable, and community-minded candidates to support our STEAM program. This role is ideal for college students or emerging professionals interested in education, youth development, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programming. It offers hands-on experience assisting with engaging educational activities designed to inspire underserved and underrepresented middle and high school students through interactive learning experiences, team projects, and mentorship.

Responsibilities

Lead team by example and hold them accountable

Take initiative in projects and activities
